The student council is an elected organization comprised of students who represent their peers and act as a bridge between the student body and the school administration. AUPE's Model UN Team competes against high schools throughout Tri-State to advance understanding of contemporary global issues through quality educational programs emphasizing collaboration and cooperative conflict resolution and preparing participants for active global citizenship. We envision a world of civically engaged people striving for peaceful, multilateral conflict resolution and equitable, sustainable human development.

AM Weightlifting

AM Weightlifting at AUPE is a strength and conditioning club that allows students to improve their physical fitness through weightlifting exercises. Students come to school at 7 am to build muscular strength, increase endurance, and enhance overall athletic performance. Engaging in weightlifting promotes physical health and boosts confidence, discipline, and determination, making it an ideal choice for students looking to challenge themselves and achieve their fitness goals.

My Brothers Keeper at AUPE

My Brother’s Keeper

In 2014, former President Obama established the My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) Task Force at the federal level. The Task Force was an interagency effort focused on closing and eliminating the opportunity gaps faced by boys and young men of color so that all young people can reach their full potential. At AUPE, we keep that dream alive by helping mold our young men into leaders in their communities.

My Sister’s Keeper

My Sister’s Keeper (MSK) is a New York City Department of Education Initiative to promote gender equity and empower and engage girls and young women in grades 4-12, including cisgender, transgender, gender expansive, and any other students who identify with the terms “girl“ or “woman.” At AUPE, our young women are taught how to become leaders through fundraising, activism, and community.

Robotics Team

The Robotics Team at AUPE is an exciting and dynamic club that allows students to gain hands-on experience designing, building, and programming robots for various competitions and challenges. Being part of the team provides students with opportunities to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. It also fosters a passion for STEM fields and opens doors to future career opportunities in robotics and engineering. Our members compete in the NYCFirst Robotics competition.

Gaming Club

The Gaming Club at AUPE is a vibrant gathering that takes place every Friday after the 8th period. It offers a space for students with a passion for gaming to connect, unwind, and forge friendships based on their shared love for this hobby. All skill levels are welcome, whether you're a beginner or an experienced gamer. By joining the Gaming Club, students can indulge in their favorite games, foster teamwork, enhance strategic thinking, and develop lasting relationships with fellow gamers.
