Summer Bridge

This summer, all students in the class of 2028 and new incoming members of the Class of 2027 will have the opportunity to attend a special summer session through AUPE’s Summer Bridge Program.

This summer experience will offer students the opportunity to:

  • get a headstart on the year by becoming familiar with staff, peers, & the building,
  • make friends by meeting other students and enjoy open pool swimming sessions,
  • learn leadership skills, and good study habits,
  • get a headstart on the ELA and Algebra classes they will take in the Fall.

While this program is not mandatory, it is highly recommended that all students attend.  The Summer Bridge Program will be an in-person program only. Rest assured, students attending at least one week of in-person combined with some online work will be eligible for high school credit. However, it’s important to note that students will need to attend the entirety of the bridge program to earn credit. Have questions? Email: jnunez73@schools.nyc.gov

Summer Youth

The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) is the nation’s most extensive youth employment program, connecting AUPE students with career exploration opportunities and paid work experience each summer. Through SYEP, students are not just gaining work experience, they are embarking on a journey of personal growth and development. They can explore different interests and career pathways, develop productive workplace habits, and engage in learning experiences that strengthen their social, civic, and leadership skills. By participating in structured projects and work-based opportunities, AUPE students are preparing for careers and shaping their futures.
