The Academy of Urban Planning & Engineering (AUPE) recently hosted its vibrant Multicultural Feast as part of it’s Hispanic Heritage Month celebration. The event brought together approximately 200 students from Spanish and ENL classes. This colorful event showcased the rich tapestry of cultures within the AUPE community.
Students proudly represented their heritage through an array of traditional dishes, beverages, and desserts from countries including the United States, Yemen, Mexico, Caribbean nations, and various Spanish-speaking countries like Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, and Argentina.
The celebration featured captivating cultural dances from Colombia and Ecuador, performed by a talented group of female students. This feast not only provided a platform for cultural exchange but also reinforced language skills as students shared their experiences in Spanish.
Special thanks to the dedicated teachers – Mr. Ladd, Ms. Couri, Ms. Morales, Ms. De la Cruz, and Ms. Tavarez – for orchestrating this wonderful celebration of diversity and fostering a sense of unity within the AUPE community, the best high school in Brooklyn.
